Title: Blocking Vendors from Search Results
Post by: Bluto on September 03, 2013, 01:52 am
Some Vendors come across as completely untrustworthy; either from past experience or from their weird, unsettling behavior on the forums. I would like a way to make sure that I don't give these untrusted yutz's any of my precious search time.

This also is for people (Vendors) whom I suspect of being LE.

In real life, let's say at the farmers market -I would just recognize a face and keep going. Certainly, it wouldn't be that hard to implement.

While I agree with the idea in itself I've described a similar concept in my thread Upgraded Listing Options: http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=182090 - The difference in how I've outlined the concept is anyone would be able to create a group/filter for basically anything, and the idea would be eventually people would start applying the most popular filters all the time ( for example one filter could be a group hunting scammers ). Another example could be a filter called "Law Enforcement", although I don't think it's very likely a filter like this will get widespread use beyond a practical joke.  ;)

This is unfortunately not going to be anything that is easy to implement however, and I don't see how the current code structure could support anything like this.  :(
Now one random idea that struck me right now is this would probably be the best option I've seen so far in terms of reducing the possibility for Hit and Run Scams. What I mean by that is all new users registering on Silk Road could have a predefined filter which unless they manually removed it would filter out all Vendors requiring Finalize Early by default, or if that is too extreme at least Vendors who are suspected of pulling a scam right at that moment.
